Im Juni gastierte die T\u00fcrkei in Island zum Hinspiel zwischen beiden Mannschaften. Angekommen in Rejkjavik, wurden die t\u00fcrkischen G\u00e4ste nach eigenen Angaben unverh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4\u00dfig lange aufgehalten am Flughafen. Den kr\u00f6nenden Abschluss lieferte ein vermeintlicher Journalist, der T\u00fcrkei-Kapit\u00e4n Emre Bel\u00f6zoglu eine Klob\u00fcrste vor die Nase hielt – in Vertretung f\u00fcr ein Mikro. Die Aufruhr war gro\u00df, selbst die Diplomatie schaltete sich ein. Sportlich gewann Island mit 2:1. F\u00fcnf Monate sp\u00e4ter trifft man sich wieder. Am Flughafen Istanbul gab es keine Klob\u00fcrsten und keine Kontrollen. Stattdessen ist die Ausgangslage recht klar: Der T\u00fcrkei reicht ein Remis, um sicher bei der EURO 2020 dabei zu sein. Die T\u00fcrkei f\u00fchrt die Gruppe vor Frankreich, Island und Co. an, hat beispielsweise gegen Weltmeister Frankreich in zwei Spielen vier Punkte geholt und hat den Gruppensieg in der eigenen Hand. Gegen Island, auf das man nun zum dritten Mal in Folge in einer Quali-Gruppe trifft, reicht ein Unentschieden, aber vor ausverkauftem Haus hat die T\u00fcrkei das Zeug, das Spiel zu gewinnen, auch wenn man nicht ignorieren darf, dass Island die letzten drei direkten Duell gewonnen hat. Island ist eine Art Angstgegner der T\u00fcrkei. Man trifft sich in aller Regelm\u00e4\u00dfigkeit und die Spielweise Islands liegt der T\u00fcrkei einfach nicht. Aber die neuformierte, junge Truppe der T\u00fcrken hat ein Niveau erreicht, dass selbst vier Punkte von Frankreich geholt wurden und auch im Hinspiel, als man in Island mit 1:2 verlor, spiegelte das nicht wirklich die Leistung beider Teams wider. Ich glaube, dass die T\u00fcrkei gewinnt und das Ticket f\u00fcr die EM 2020 ziehen wird.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
