Doch daraus wurde nichts. Eine Schw\u00e4chephase kurz vor Ende der Saison \u2013 und schon war der Titel weg. Mit einem Punkt R\u00fcckstand auf die Flensburger reichte es f\u00fcr die Mannheimer dann nur noch zu Platz zwei in der Bundesliga. F\u00fcr die Aussichten in der Champions League vielleicht ein gutes Omen. Denn als Meister gingen sie in den letzten europ\u00e4ischen Titelversuchen leer aus. Gerade mal vier Spiele in der Liga absolviert, dazu kommen noch zwei Partien im deutschen Pokal. Und der Supercup gegen den Deutschen Meister Flensburg. Dort durften die Mannheimer als Pokalsieger starten. Allerdings haben die L\u00f6wen bislang alle Spiele gewonnen.
